Rev. Daniel Triant, Presiding Priest
Fr. Daniel Triant is dedicated to ministry through worship, practical education, clear communication, and efficient administration. In his first few years as a Greek Orthodox priest and while serving the beloved parishioners of Saint Demetrios in Seattle, he focused especially on youth and Orthodox education ministries, as well as operations.
During his six years with Saint Demetrios, Fr. Daniel has nurtured the youth and young adult ministries, with spiritual sessions with the Greek Dance groups, winter and lenten retreats, involvement in summer camps, and lively monthly discussions with young adults. His goal was to challenge young people with thought-provoking questions and topics to encourage them to become active participants in their faith. He also coordinated special events, including a harvest festival, and—together with his Presvytera—lenten and Christmas programs.
Fr. Daniel used his extensive experience in the tech industry to revamp operations in the office, creating better processes within the staff and for parishioners. He streamlined communications, including the introduction of Basecamp, to enable more efficiency, transparency, and continuity. In addition to this, Fr. Daniel was responsible for the monthly newsletter and eCommunications at the parish.
His favorite act of service, however, was and continues to be meeting and connecting with parishioners, whether that led him to someone’s home, a coffee shop, or the hospital, he enjoyed serving Christ through these one-on-one encounters. He will forever cherish his time at Saint Demetrios, and will always be humbled by and grateful for the love, generosity, and kindness constantly shown to him and to his family.
Fr. Daniel hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He received his Bachelors of Computer Science from DePaul University in 1998, and then developed web and mobile phone applications at several start-up companies. He graduated from Holy Cross in 2014, receiving his Master’s of Divinity. He served as the assistant priest under Rev. Fr. Photios Dumont at the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Seattle, WA with his wife, Presvytera Michelle, and his two daughters, Penelope and Mia.
Rev. Stephen Supica, Retired Priest
Father Stephen faithfully served our community for over 30 years. He was ordained to the diaconate in Thessaloniki, Greece and priest at All Saints Camp, Raft Island WA near Gig Harbor.
